The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) was established in 1993, as a result of growing concerns regarding the increasing rate of deforestation and environmental degradation across the globe. It is an independent, international non-profit organisation, which focuses on promoting the responsible management of the world’s forests. By setting standards and applying certifications, the FSC® informs and educates consumers about the source of the products.
The FSC® logo, signifies that the product comes from responsible sources i.e. sources that are environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable.
Consumers now have the option of supporting responsible forestry by purchasing products with an independent, global and credible label for forest products. As a result of the growing demand for FSC® certified products, forest owners and managers are now incentivised to follow the best social and environmental practices.
Universal Paper and Plastics has taken action and recently aligned with the vision of the FSC® by becoming FSC® certified.
You will find the FSC® logo on our packaging indicating the type of certification and our unique licence code (FSC®-C114716). This can be referenced checked on the FSC® website or by clicking here.
