UPP had a massive drive during the month of December, to promote the awareness of HIV / AIDS throughout the workplace. As part of this initiative, departmental training sessions were held, during which the HIV / AIDS policy was launched and in commemoration of World Aids Day we had Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) mobile units on site.
We partnered with the Foundation for Professional Development (FDP) for the mobile VCT, and there was an overwhelming amount of active support and participation from our employees – with more than 120 employees being tested on-site.
HIV / AIDS continues to impact South African business and society at large, and through awareness campaigns and initiatives UPP endeavours to provide support and assistance to all within ‘our family’.
