Our 75th birthday celebration was a day filled with joy and a powerful sense of togetherness, as we reflected on our rich history and spoke about the exciting future ahead.
A Heartfelt Tribute to Our Legacy
The day started with an unforgettable experience in our dispatch area, where employees stood together to form a giant ‘75’. The creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication of every single person who participated created an image that captured the spirit of our company. The drone shot of this stunning formation was more than just a photograph—it was a symbol of the collective effort and the journey we’ve all travelled to bring Universal Paper and Plastics to where it is today.
Denim and Diamonds: A Perfect Theme for Our Diamond Jubilee
The real magic of the day took place at our original paper factory. Once transformed into a breathtaking venue with a “denim and diamond” theme, it truly reflected the celebratory spirit of our 75th year. The venue was beautifully adorned with decorations honouring the company’s heritage and marking this special milestone. A fantastic DJ and MC added to the atmosphere with upbeat tunes that had everyone in a great mood, and the vibe was electric.
A Day Full of Fun, Food, and Festivities
No celebration is complete without some fun, and this event was no exception. Our popular “Toilet Paper Games” took centre stage, bringing laughter and excitement to the day. These quirky games have become a much-anticipated tradition, and they never fail to deliver a sense of camaraderie and amusement.
A delicious sit-down meal catered to all tastes, ensuring every guest was well-fed and satisfied. Of course, no celebration would be complete without a selfie booth, and our event had one in full swing. It was the perfect place for employees and guests to snap memories and add a little extra flair to the occasion.
But the true highlight of the day was the magnificent anniversary cake. Beautifully designed, it symbolized our sweet success over the past 75 years, and as the cake was cut, it felt like we were all sharing in that moment of triumph together.

Guiding us through this incredible celebration was the charismatic Joe Motloba from Ga-Rankuwa FM, who kept the energy high and ensured that everyone was engaged. With his infectious enthusiasm, Joe brought the perfect touch of excitement to the event.
