The bathroom is one of the most expensive areas in the house, and has the possibility of being the dirtiest too! Why not take a little time to make sure you are getting the most hygienic bang for your buck?
We have taken the time to make a list of a few places you could look to saving in the long run.
Bathroom hacks
1. Out of toilet cleaner? No problem!
Sprinkle some baking soda all over the inside of the bowl, add a little white vinegar, leave it to fizz and scrub it down with the toilet brush. Voila! DIY toilet cleaner that is better for the environment too!
2. Trick the tank! Fill a 500ml bottle with water and put it into your toilet tank mid-flush. The tank will fill up as normal but will be holding 500ml less water. Leave the bottle inside the tank for every flush after that.
3. Turn off the tap! Instead of letting the water run while brushing your teeth or washing your hands, close the tap and only open it when you need to rinse off. This brings us to point #4.
4. Use the plug! Instead of letting water run while shaving or washing your face, fill the basin up to an adequate level, do your thing and let the water out.
5. Re-use your towel. Instead of using a fresh towel for every shower or bath, use a towel twice instead – this cuts your laundry washing down by half!
6. Buy toilet paper in bulk.
We have 3 factory stores trading in Gauteng where our customers can find the best possible quality for the best price. Not in Gauteng? Do not fret! We have all major retailers stocking our fantastic brand – and available in 18’s packs for your convenience and saving!
7. Buy hand soap in large containers and decant it into containers you already have! This is substantially cheaper than buying a new container of hand soap. Lucky for you – we now sell hand soap at our Factory stores in bulk too!
8. Shower time – firstly, it is way more economical to take showers than it is a bath! Secondly, install a low flow showerhead that will reduce the amount of water you use when you shower! Alternatively, take shorter showers!
9. Take the time to fix those leaky taps in the house! Leaks add significantly to your water bill each month, so take the time to check your taps and to replace any old washers to make sure you aren’t (literally) washing money down the drain!
